Which players play burned Blu-ray?

I burned my first Blu-Ray disc, but other than my friend's PS3, I can't find a standalone Blu-Ray player that will play burned media. My friend's Samsung BR/HD-DVD combo player choked on it.

Anyone know which models actually can handle burned material?

Well...nobody has an answer. That's not a good sign. Hopefully the customers that have been asking for Blu-Ray discs will have PS3's installed in their board rooms, hehe.

I've had good luck with my Samsung P1500. Your friend might want to make sure he's got the latest firmware loaded for his Bluray player.

A lot of the set-top players just plain won't play burned discs. I did some digging around the AV Science website...the PS3 apparently works the best for burned content, but since it's really just a Blu-Ray drive inside there, that isn't a surprise. That Samsung P1500 actually lists BD-R and BD-RE in its specs. The BD-UP 5000 does not.

thanks!

Hi,

I've made a list of Blu-ray disc players which are supposed to be BD-R friendly compatible, here :
Liste platines Blu-ray compatibles BD-R

(It's in french). However, references in green have BD-R compatibility written in their technical specs. Some of them may need firmware update also.
WARNING : I couldn't tested all of them, but this list could be a begining. Please, verify this info on various sources before buying a Blu-ray player, and inform us of your experience in order to make this list more accurate.
Hope this helps !
