Black Magic Cinema 4K
Has their been any discussion on how good this camera is in low light? I know that the original wasn't terrible, but I was hoping this one would be better. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Chad Dyle |
Re: Black Magic Cinema 4K
My understanding is that it will be not as good as the BMCC when it comes to low light shooting.

Re: Black Magic Cinema 4K
the purpose of this camera is to be used in situation where light is controlled (studio), so low light should not be a problem.

Re: Black Magic Cinema 4K
The sensor is bigger, so that would mean more light sensitivity. But it's also got more pixels, so that'd slightly decrease sensitivity. The original version had a native ISO of 400 (if I'm not mistaken) - the 4K seems to be getting ISO 640 as its native value. So all in all I suspect the 4K to be very close to the original, with the original being the 'winner'. Though I guess it's too early to tell at this stage. Wait and see, it's all we can do for now.

The original BMCC (2.5) has a native ISO of 800
