Indiana Jones 4 to start filming in 2007

Well, it looks like it is finally going to happen---another Indiana Jones film!

Speaking of sequels...

The 4th installment of the "Die Hard" films with Bruce Willis

and "Rush Hour 3" comes out this year too...

I don't know about all these sequels. About the only one that seems like the actors aren't too old is Live Free or Die Hard (are they still calling it that?)

Stallone is making another Rambo, too.

The trailer for the Die Hard movie looks great.

As for Indy IV, what will it be called? King Tut's Cane? Raiders of the Lost Walker?

John Vincent January 3rd, 2007 02:39 PM

Um, well you see, ah, Harrison Ford is 65.

And, don't get me wrong, Ford was a great action star even up until his early fifties, but about the only actor in history that could pull something like that off is Duke Wayne - and even then it'd be stretching it.

The last Indy was clearly meant to be the last (literally riding off into the sunset for like 5 minutes), a nostalgic good-bye.

Think about the stunts from the first Indy - sliding behind the truck, the giant fight on the monplane, etc - how the heck is Harrison (who perhaps hasn't aged as well as someone like Stalone) going to do anything near that? It seemed like it nearly killed him 30 years ago.

I'm a giant fan of the first film, fond of the 2d, and so-so for the third - it's not like those films were getting better with each new one.

Hey, I could be wrong - they could pull out all the stops and basically try to kill Ford - and with CG sfx, he could have a neat adventure...

But I have me doubts. Also, as much lameted on this site, it's yet another sequel.

Are they going to be high budget? I don't want to spend $15 for a low budget film unless Dylan made it. ;-)

digital doubles and stunt actors.

And lets not forget who Harrison is married to. Clearly he isn't too old for a young wife. The old dude must be in better shape then we think.

Wow...has this been a year?

Looks like it opens May 22, 2008.

"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"

I like this interview with Spielberg:

Thanks for the link to the interview. Sounds like his kids have an HV20 or maybe an XH-A1. I love that nobody gets to touch Dad's high-def family camera!

There's another Vanity Fair article that seems to give away the plot. http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/fe...anajones200802

Its unfortunate that Lucas had an idea for a McGuffin that Ford and Spielberg hated for years and years until finally they liked it...because time was running out to do any IJ film. Doesnt sound like a good sign.

I dont have any faith in Lucas' story sense anymore.
He's right that the Ark was a great McGuffin compared with glowing stones and a drinking cup--but if they are heading in the direction implied in the article.....

Anyway I was disappointed in Die Hard 4 though not expecting much. It didnt have the energy of the previous ones--and a truly worthless villain, I dont understand how they could overlook the pattern of the previous ones: strong wisecracking villains.

I have a bit more faith in Rambo only because Stallone did make a decent film with Rocky 6 and I think he has good story sense. But we'll see...

Funny--I saw Jaws at 5. It really made me scared of bathtub drains and bodies of water.
