"Little Miss Sunshine" not a blockbuster, but nearly perfect
 

These remarks come to you from someone who unabashedly enjoys heavy helpings of darkness, sex, violence, suspense and action in movies.

That's not what you'll find in "Little Miss Sunshine," but if you generally admire strengths and forgive weaknesses in other people, and if you like to laugh, you're not likely to ever find more entertainment for your money. I left the theater with a vague feeling that I had been lifted a notch on some scale just by virtue of having laughed.

The child lead is like a female Ralphy from "A Christmas Story." And like that movie, everyting clicks wonderfully, but with a very different and totally unique effect.

For a moment I thought you were talking about Sunshine, which really is very good.

I thought you had already seen Danny Boyle's "Sunshine".

i just saw Little Miss Sunshine. it was fantastic. everything was top-notch. the script, acting, production design, direction, cinematography. everything. it was alittle painful to watch in places because the characters are so abrasive. but its a funny painful..

I thought you meant "Eternal Sunshine...", didn't see "Little miss...".

I agree, Little Miss Sunshine was a great movie. Everything really came together and it shows what can be accomplished with all the elements of proper storytelling.

They didn't even need a huge budget, although the main well known actors took a pay cut to keep the budget from being too inflated.
