Yeah, well I did. It must have been YEARS ago...I can't even remember, but AMC ran it several times one weekend when I was crashing on my Mom's couch, and I must have watched it at least 3 times in 2 days. I can even remember some of the lyrics of the little duet (I think it was in a soda shop) with Fabian and the daughter.

Anyway, your quote is from "Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation."

Mr. Jones, you are correct! And for those Jimmy Stewart fans who haven't seen this movie, do it. It's great.

Okay gang, so here goes the next quote. Have at it:
----------
Lawyer: "Um, your honor? I object.... that this guy also broke my apartment to sh*t.

Defendant: What?

Lawyer: And you know what else? I object that he's not gonna have any money to pay me after he pays back all the money he stole from the hospital!"
----------

That's all I'm saying since any more would be a dead giveaway.

If you saw this movie, it should be a very easy quote, but it also flew under the radar when released so it may not be all that well known.

This one was easy, but I'll wait a few hours to see if anyone else gets it.

Chris Hurd January 6th, 2008 10:03 AM

Looks like you'll have to take it, Paul!

That quote, I believe, is from Idiocracy.

It is indeed. Your turn to drive, Paul.

Okay. There are lots of good quotes from this one, but I don't want to make it too easy. Here are two:

"My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives."

"My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention. "

Just a wild guess, are those from Being John Malkovich?

Nope, sorry. If no one gets it by tonight, I'll include another quote or two.

Jonathan Jones January 6th, 2008 07:54 PM

Another wild guess...Is it "Ladyhawk"? Perhaps a monologue by the evil bishop? or perhaps by the monk while feigning insanity?

-Jon

Paul Tauger January 6th, 2008 08:01 PM

Good guess! But incorrect. ;)

Sorry.

Tesla, from The Prestige?

Nope. Here's a hint (which is probably more obscure than the quotes): The character who says these lines could be called "poisonous."

Jonathan Jones January 7th, 2008 12:22 AM

Okay, I'll try again.

Is it Jim Carrey's character (Count Olaf) from "Lemony Snickets: A Series of Unfortunate Events" ?
