Joseph George May 23rd, 2003, 02:05 AM You guys have good taste but my most favorite western is Wyatt Earp -- I hope I did not misspell it too bad Philip Boyer May 23rd, 2003, 06:41 AM Little Big Man - This movie made me fall in love with Faye Dunaway. Mark Moore May 23rd, 2003, 07:46 AM THE SEARCHERS - John Wayne at his best and baddest. SILVERADO UNFORGIVEN SHANE "Go home, Billy. Go home and grow up big and strong." "But I'm already bigger than you are." "STOP IT! Make him stop saying that!!!" HIGH NOON (a bit hokie, but I like it) BLAZING SADDLES (ok, it crosses lines, but still a western) Almost any John Wayne movie (sorry, I'm a fan). Zac Stein May 23rd, 2003, 08:48 AM I really liked Django, and the Leone stuff. Zac Adrian Douglas May 23rd, 2003, 09:30 AM High Plains Drifter, nothing else need be said. Mark Moore May 23rd, 2003, 03:21 PM I forgot . . . RIO BRAVO. Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson singing "My Rifle, My Pony and Me" is a classic! Also, Walter Brennan should have won best supporting Oscar (if he didn't). K. Forman May 23rd, 2003, 03:26 PM Magnificent Seven Red Sun West World Son of Paleface Keith Loh May 23rd, 2003, 04:16 PM THE WILD BUNCH RED RIVER BAD COMPANY THE GOOD, THE BAD and the UGLY A FISTFULL OF DOLLARS MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Richard Alvarez May 23rd, 2003, 04:21 PM "Unforgiven" 'nuff said. Mark Moore May 24th, 2003, 06:54 PM I've seen a topic for just about every other "favorite", so . . . In no particular order - SAVING PRIVATE RYAN DIRTY DOZEN GREAT ESCAPE THIRTY SIX HOURS EMPIRE OF THE SUN MR. ROBERTS THE CAINE MUTINY SGT YORK PATTON first half of FULL METAL JACKET HEARTBREAK RIDGE "I ain't giving no service man's discount, Gunny." "That's funny, 'cause your ol lady does." STALAG 17 BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI Andrew Petrie May 25th, 2003, 06:20 PM I really didnt grow up with the Westerns... so, war movies eh.... The Thin Red Line - gorgeous to watch, gets better every time i see it. plus my favorite soundtrack of all time :) Tigerland - Lots of new talent, gritty and raw. Love the look and story. Black Hawk Down - Hella fun to watch Christopher Hughes May 26th, 2003, 03:21 PM I like an old war film WHERE EAGLES DARE....it has the best music intro on a war film....that flying over mountains and then music gradually getting louder and louder as plane gets nearer gets u really pumped up! The the music soars as the plane barely passes over the mountain peak...before coming back down to normal as the plan engine comes to normal.. If you havent seen it...see it, its a great classic bit of cinema and not an inch on computer generated graphics or computer generated music!!!!! Dylan Couper May 26th, 2003, 03:37 PM Dylan's Favorite War movies, and also two of his top 15 favorite movies of all time: Das Boot Apocalypse Now Favorite Western: No solid opinion. Too many good John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies to choose from. |
