Is there a cineform product that will work with both? DO any work with FCP as well? How about Avid? Sorry for all the questions, but I may be using multiple NLEs (unfortunately) and was wondering if there was an across-the-board solution from cineform for editing HDV. Thanks!

All our products work in both Premiere and Vegas and many others. However the Aspect and Prospect HD/2K products add extra features for Premiere, but the capture, conversion and codec utilities are still compatible with nearly everything else. Avid support is limited as Avid excludes third party codec support, you need to transcode into DNxHD. Our FCP support is just about to come out of beta.

Robert,
Aspect HD will provide the CineForm real-time engine for PPro, and also the components for all other Windows applications installed on that machine including Sony Vegas.
If you instead use Neo, it will also work with all products, but it does not contain the RT video processing engine for PPro. If you're going to use PPro you really want the RT engine from either Aspect HD or Prospect HD.
We'll have a Neo release for MacOS shortly so files are literally cross-platform compatible. You can experiment with our MacOS beta release today.

Also, is there any way you could explain the difference of Aspect and Prospect, in layman's terms? Im not sure I fully understand intermediates, and the differences there are eluding me! Thanks!

Prospect HD/2K is for film or broadcast applications at 1920x1080 10-bit with HDSDI capture and real-time monitoring -- if you make money from you projects (or hope to) this is the way to go. The 10-bit is a great help of color correction work. Aspect HD is for 1440x1080 8-bit applications with a direct to disk distribution model where 10bit color correction and HDSDI mastering is not required.
