When shooting with the JVC, you can do record 30p and convert to 25p to get that little slower effect, specially done on music videos. This is for PAL. But how would I shoot in order to get the same effect for NTSC? 60p to 30p (50%) speed is way too much...
anyone with experience in this?

What would probably work is shooting 30p and conforming it to 24p.

What about when wanting to record the video back to DigiBeta for TV broadcast (NTSC 30p/29.97) ?

Standard 3:2 pulldown, same thing films shot at 24 fps do.

Will I have to pitch the audio track so it'll be in sync when conforming from 30p to 24p?

If you're going for the effect I'm thinking you are, you'll have to pitch it 25% faster while you're shooting so the band can play along, then it will be normal speed in your editor.

Stephen:
So just let me be sure about this:
I shoot 30p, conform to 24p, and do a 3:2 pulldown to 29.97/30p. In order for the sync to remain correct, I have to speed up the playback by 25%.
Is this correct? Does this mean that when doing a 3:2 pulldown 24p-29.97/30p, there is no loss of sync/speed?
