What exactly comes out the SDI feed? I assume its single-link 4:2:2 ?

Does the SDI feed include all of the processing except for HDV compression?

Can anyone point me towards some sample output? (motion preferable.)

I'm trying to justify to myself buying a camera today, rather than waiting for RED-like options with more modern recording/codec capabilities that will be available tomorrow.

yes it's 4:2:2 uncompressed SD/HD-SDI live feed out

And I assume the feed is not "raw" but rather takes into account all of your processing choices (scene file type parameters) ?

The HD-SDI feed can either output at 720P24,25,30 (in a pulldown) 720P50,60 or 1080i. You cannot simultaneously record to tape when the HD250 is in 1080i mode.

Yes, it does output the processed signal (after passing through the DSP) but not the compressed video that is recorded as HDV to tape.

Thanks for the info, guys. Has anybody shot a test scenario both ways and have files to compare?

I've been on the fence for a long time now and my hope is that the additional color resolution and lack of macroblocking might make this an acceptable choice for a removable lens system in the price range I have to play with.
