I have a GL2 and a VX2100. I here the VX is better in low light, is this true? I shot a wedding last weekend with my GL2 and the Reception did not come out very good because they had the place almost dark. Do you think the VX would have been better?

Don't understand that one, you say you have both camera's, then it's easy to find out no?
I can tell you my that vx2100 only requires a 3 watt spot which is attached to it to film in a completely dark room and still retain colour. A lot of grain ofcourse but it definetely performs better then my second cam: a pana dvx100b

The Sony's have been known for years to be the kings of low light. Be it the VX's, PDs or DSR series of cameras they out perform other comprable cameras.
As Noa suggested since you have both, simply put them both on a solid surface frame something with both to be as close to the same as possible, turn down the lights and shoot some tape. Load into your NLE then you'll see for yourself and you'll find out real quick what the answer is.
