So how does cineform help editing and rendering in Vegas 7? I am using an XHA1 and staying highest resolution throughout so maximizing speed is always going to be a good thing. But is Cineform going to help and if so is it a lot or just slightly? what exactly does it do and do you have to capture with it or can you convert from mt2 files to it? how long or fast is that process generally? And does Vegas have some conecton with it already, there are render settings using a cineform codec in avi formats, is that the same or different? I am assuming that since its HDV its also compressed avi format not a full uncompressed version? Also I heard that there may be issues with capturing with cineform is that common? or is it generally smooth? I am capturing the XHA1 footage with an HV20 (Used sort of as a deck) I am shooting mainly 24f but will be testing soon to see if shooting 60i and using something like dvfilm to convert to 24 is a better option.

Also, what is a typical filesize per hour of captured and/or rendered footage? if I print to tape do I have to reconvert it to an mt2? and if so is it better to archive the cineform file? if so what are most people doing Blu-ray? or just harddrives? or both?

I do believe there are many strong reasons to use CineForm for capture, edit and mastering, for quality and work efficiencies being the main reasons.
