Before buying this camera i had an Xl1 for 8 years. So a lot of things are new, i'm in the learning curve.

I put some shots for those who want to imagine how the images of this camera look like. I keep the reel size (720) but convert in quicktime h.264. There's also an uncompressed file (you will have to remove the ".txt" and watch it with vlc).

The color preset is Tim's CDM28. Thanks !

To download these files, click on the right button of you mouse, and "save as". Files are from 50 to 100 mb.

I also put photos. You'll see how it's more easy to have a good focus shooting macro than wide angle (have some problem have crisp images in wide angle)

Nice shots Fabrice, thanks for posting. Have you tried the Panamatch setting? I really like the look of that setting. I'd really like to see some shots with the panamatch setting with the HD200 series, i think i've only seen it on the HD100 series.... It would be interesting to see if there are any differences.

Hey Brian - unfortunately, HD100 series scene settings do not translate directly to the 200 series. The look would have to be recreated using the 200 series extended controls. The good news is that the 200 has more levels of adjustment in several areas, and an improved DSP.

There's a version of the Panamatch from Stephen L. Noe, for the 200 series here :

I've plan to try it. Perharps next week-end in montains... But i came back to France (the other shots were from Spain) and here, it's still not summer... and the snow was on montains few days ago. Really !

I've tried True Color 3 for the hd 200, but the color seems to me too metalized :

I've also noted on any "real-word" samples that the True Color 3 settings don't look very natural at all. Just goes to show that test charts under ideal conditions don't always correlate to real world shooting conditions.

I like the more contrasted look, but less the yellowish color.

Also the image seems more grainy in the dark area. Did you color correct on the original mpeg flow or did you change for a better codec ?

Fabrice, thanks for real m2t file
In eyeon fusion 64 bit internal calculation therefore simply
correct mpeg and uncompress output for export to any codec.

Sorry for my bad english

Here is 3 pictures with different color presets : Tim CDM, True Color 3 and Panamatch. But view this image in Photoshop because colors seem to be washed out in my browser.

Tim CDM seems to be closer to what reality look. Panamatch and True Color 3 look approximatively the same (TC3 has little more black in the water).

And some new shots from montains :
