With FCS 2 causing headaches, I'm considering a clean install. But copying files to another drive I noticed the new size quite a bit larger than the original.

Any reason for that?

It certainly makes me wary of what's happening to my precious files!

I'm copying microsoft documents, FCP project files, DVD SP project files, pictures, anything on my MB Pro's drive.

They're going onto a Lacie 250gb drive via FW.

best,
elmer

I believe the minimum file size is dependent on the size of the hard drive. If you're copying small files this could result in a difference between the two copies. Other than that I can't think of a reason for this. You might try using a utility to clone one drive to the other and see how the sizes compare.

Thanks, Boyd!

Btw, I'm considering a clean install because I can't get Compressor 3 to open. FCS 2 may have issues. There's an Apple forum thread with the details. The problem is getting a "Unable to submit to queue" warning when attempting to submit. 'Was' I should say, cause now I can't even get Compressor to start up.

Thanks for listening,
