Hi. I've masked off part of a layer and would like the remaining visible shaped bit of video to cast a drop-shadow over the following layer.
Any ideas? I'm sure it's something really simple I missed here....

Drop Shadows are added via Track Motion.

Edward, thanks so much! I had a good look round but didn't try that one. PS playing with the multicamera feature in Excalibur at the moment - I like the fact you can do more than 4 cams (unlike Premiere Pro!!)

dupe the masked layer and drop the brightness on the video to 0...whatever correction to make the whole video black...then offset the track by a few pixels diagonally...not quite sure how to in vegas...could also make a rectangular shape to match the mask, then offset that and feather the edges.

Thanks to both of you!
I would never have thought of looking in "track motion". And I'm sure there are lots of other interesting ways to do this too - so I appreciate the help.
