I have, what I hope, is a very straightfoward question. I shoot with a Sony FX1 in 1080i60 HDV and edit .m2t on the timeline.

I'm trying to export my project file to a format that is ideal to load into either Sorenson Squeeze or Quicktime Pro so that I may use those programs to encode my video files rather than rely on any built in Codec inside Vegas.

Can somebody please give me some of the specific options while in the rendering menu what I should choose?

Thank you in advance...

Jon

then render to the 4:2:2 YUV format, but have a darn big hard drive and a lot of time.
Sorenson won't provide a better encode to h.264 than Vegas will...Neither will QT Pro.
Sorenson will provide a better Flash output, however, and a better V3 output.

Thanks for the reply Douglas. Than how do you recomend I get the best H.264 output from the Vegas timeline? In almost all renders I've tried (and I've tried a BUNCH), the clarity on the image is satisfactory (though not as sharp as I'd like) but the colors are subdued and almost washed out. I cannot get a render from the timeline to produce that visual pop I see in my native HDV files and on my DVD output.

Obviously I'd rather not export out uncompressed and then reencode, rendering straight from Vegas is the ideal approach but I just haven't been able to find the ability to export a nice solid high quality image for computer playback.
