Is it possible to transmit component video out of my Z1u over SDI 259m. I am a bit confused. I know that HD-SDI is 292m/HDTV? Does this mean that 259m is standard definition only?
Thanks,
Jon

Those SMPTE specifications relate primarily to the total bandwidth that they're capable of supporting (1.485 Gbps for 292M and 270 Mbps for 259M), but yes, basically 292M for High Definition (as well as Standard) and 259M for Standard Definition only.
You can get a small, compact converter box which will take analog component video input and change it to SDI output (SMPTE 292M), such as the AJA HD10A (http://www.aja.com/html/products_converters_HD10A.html) but it is of course for video only; there's no audio capability since audio isn't passed through the analog component video output on your camcorder. Hope this helps,
