does anyone know if this method produces decent results? is it worth the time and effort??

This link works. I have done this and It is working only with small cams. Even HV20 needs achromat and very short setup. But without vibrating this is useles for serious work. Static noise is too obvious. For testing and trying is good, but in bigger housing and for almost same amount of efort and money you can do better. Other then that nice try and good basic info. Go to jetsetmodels site and you will get the rest.

It's amazing how everything sticks to the wall. It's not magnetic, because even the plastic lenscover sticks to the wall.
Anyway, it's a very useful video for people who are getting started.
