Hello from SW Montana (about 90 minutes North of Yellowstone!) to all fellow vid-makers.

I never know what to say as a "newbie" to a forum, so I guess I'll mostly just list my gear!

I use 2 Canon GL2 cameras with a Steadicam JR Lite and a Pro-Am DVC 250 Crane. Edit on a Mac G5 using the Final Cut Pro Suite (Version 5). I do event videography and corporate projects. Everything from company profiles to product demonstrations.

Hi Frank,

I'm from Bozeman also. It's a great place isn't it? I moved here a couple years ago and am loving it. Do you shoot events or outdoor stuff?

Hey, Jake!

Yeah, I moved here 39 years ago! It is a lovely place to be.

I shoot a lot of event-type work, and corporate videos. Ironically, I do very little outdoor work.

How about you?

I shoot pretty much all outdoor videos. Mainly fly fishing and river footage, but some hunting videos also. I am fairly new in this business, but I am loving every minute of it!

Bozeman is a great place to be creative, just looking out my window seems to inspire me to share the wonder of this area with other people.

Do you know if there is some form of group or club or anything for videographers in the Bozeman area? I would love to hook up with some more experienced people and get some advice.

There's not really a group that I know of. Of course there is the Media/Theatre Arts dept. at MSU, but in my experience if you're not enrolled there's not too involvement available.

I don't imagine you have any difficulty finding plenty of hunting/fishing opportunities around here!

Yeah, my sister is going to be part of that program up at MSU. I didn't think there would be a group like that here, but hey, I had to ask.

And yes, finding fishing and hunting around here is like walking into a candy store and finding chocolate. There are great oppotunities everywhere! Do you fish or hunt at all?
