Hi,

Do 35mm adapters (equiped with Nikon or some other lens) need the original camera lens to be filmed with? Or can you just install an adapter (equiped with a Nikon or some other lens) on a camera body, just body with no lens?

The Mini35 is modular and adaptive sub-components in the optical relay stage, power supply and baseplate fittings, are offered to enable the adaptor to be integrated with in-built lens cams like the Sony HVR-Z1/FX1 family style or the detachable lens styles like the JVC HD100 or Canon XL families.

Do 35mm adapters (equiped with Nikon or some other lens) need the original camera lens to be filmed with? You've posted this question in the P+S Technik Digital Image Converters forum. The answer depends on which P+S Technik converter you're referring to. The Mini35 mounts to certain camcorders having a built-in lens. The Mini35c and the Pro35 mount directly to certain camcorder bodies with their stock interchangeable lenses removed. Here's a guide to P+S Technik converters:

Hope this helps,

You may be referring to the Redrock M2 - it uses the camera's own lens as the relay lens to dramatically cut costs.
