JVC just came out with a 35mm adapter for the GY series:

Compact form, less than a stop of light loss, list price of 4395.00...

Could we see Canon come up with something similiar, unlocking that until-now dormant flip feature?

I know the new P+S compact item is coming, but I'm really liking the small-form of this JVC number. I'd love to see something similiar from Canon

And could Canon please build it for considerably less than $5000! Shnikies!

I started tearing apart an ef adapter with hope's of making use of the flip function, don't know which contact to tape down though. but honestly this looks really similar to the 35c which I think may actually have an even smaller form factor then this jvc one. Maybe they'll both be at cine-gear and someone can compare the two.

That's quite exciting, 16mm or 35mm DOF from an adapter designed specifically for the camera. Just a shame it's such a high proportion of the price of the camera itself, once you add the cost of a PL mount lens or two, you're going to be right up there with an hpx500, basic SI-2K etc. and you're still stuck with 1/3" sensors.

Still I shouldn't complain - it's a step in the right direction, and that's always a good thing!
