I need some advice about camera mounted monitors. I have a Canon XL H1 and my eyes aren't what they used to be.

We are taking all the profits of our video production company and dumping them back into the business to buy equipment. (We just bought the new Canon 6X wide angle lense and it looks good).

Now we would like to buy the camera mounted monitor.

- We use the XL H1, often with a teleprompter attached
- We record 50% of the time into a notebook/external hard drive using DV RACK HD
- We film 50% indoors/50% outdoors

Two things we are most interested in accomplishing:

1. Sharp focusing
2. Composition

Any and all help would be appreciated.

John

I feel ya, John. But then again, my eyes have never worked that well. I'm about to encounter the same problem shooting high def. I did find this, however:

Good luck.

Brian, two great links.

Thank you. Any thoughts on the Panasonic?

The Panasonic BT-LH80W? I'm sure it's wonderful if you can afford it. I saw it on the Panasonic site. I think it was around $2700.
