I'm looking to do a music video where the video is in regular speed then goes slo motion. I'm currently shooting with the JVC-HD110U and was wondering if anyone knew if there was a particular setting or speed to shoot(i.e 60i/50i) at. thanks a million

Hi Antwuan,
From my understanding, its recommended that the shutter speed be increased for smoother slow mo.
This probably wont help much at this stage, But I downloaded the Beta version of Premiere pro CS3, which only lets you work with SD (HDV is diabled). My point is that the slow mo (Time remapping) options available are excelent!. The footage looks heaps better than PP2.0 slow mo..Use AfterEffects if you have it.

I don't know the camera, but in Premiere Pro (in case you haven't discovered this) you'll get a slightly smoother slo-mo effect if you click on the slowed video track in the timeline, and in the "Effect Controls" window, drag in the "Field Interpolate" plugin which you find in Effects -> video effects -> Video ->Field Interpolate. It makes the video look a bit less jerky.
As a formerly loyal Premiere Pro user, I have to say Sony Vegas does a hugely better job of slow-motion that PP2. Can't speak for CS3...
