I saw a demonstration of Speed Edit and was impressed with the flexibility
of the program vs. Edius old fashioned interface. Any takes from others...
Advantages of Speed Edit over Edius or visa versa?
I like speed edits background rendering without a compression board and the ability to put a variety of codecs on the same time line without transcoding.
The only thing I did not like...no views of the time line on a NTSC monitor while editing.

Thanks...

Actually... there are several ways to output SE to an NTSC monitor.

You can send DV firewire preview to a DV device in the middle< then out to NTSC >

You can send an HDV preview via firewire using an HDV as a device in the middle < then out of your camera via HD component and I believe even HDMI

You can also now send true SD NTSC output if you have a VT4 card.

The first 2 options are preview quality but still look very good.
Hopefully NewTek with release a HD hardware card that willl support all output formats soon.

IMO.... they are very close in options.
SE has the added SB feature, that is a very powerful UI in itself.

So Brian what is the SB feature? ...Which software needs the most powerful computer?
Thanks for responding..............
