Matt Garrett (http://www.mushyproductions.com) and Bruce Allen (http://www.boacinema.com) recently conducted a series of Nikon lens tests using a HVX-200 and the SGPro 35mm adapter.

The Nikon lenses included:
17-35mm f/2.8
35mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.8
105mm f/2.0
135mm f/2.0
180mm f/2.8

FreshDV is hosting the video results for them, you can download full and half-res versions here (http://www.freshdv.com/2007/06/nikon-lens-tests-with-the-sgpro-35mm-adapter-and-hvx200.html). Thanks to Bruce and Matt for the thorough testing and for sharing their findings with the community!

Hi Matt:

1. I have never seen this product before. How does it compare with the M2?

2. I was a beta tester for the never released Cinemek G35. Does the SGPro use a vibrating or rotating gg?

3. Do you know what the light loss is?

Thanks,

Dan

I'm actually a Brevis owner, so I'll defer to those who have experience with the SGPro. I do know that they have a site with some info, http://www.sgpro.co.uk/pages/thesgpro/thesgproframeset.html and a forum FAQ up here: http://waynekinney.iforumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3&mforum=waynekinney

Also there was a 3-way shootout test between the M2, SGPro, and Brevis not too long ago. http://www.freshdv.com/2007/02/35mm-adapter-shootout-redrock-micro-m2-cinevate-brevis-35-and-sgpro.html

1. I have never used the M2. Later this week I will be doing a comparison though.
2. It's a spinning GG. Also, Macgregor now uses the sgpro.
3. a little less than one stop.
