i have a friend who wants to shoot a new hvx200. i have a Canon A1. will we be able to match these cameras on the same shoot? or are they simply two different animals? it seems to me that they are texturally different. can i simply transcode DVC Pro HD to HDV in the editor (FCP) and have it turn out okay?

thanks, douglas. did you use these in the same timeline? did you transcode one or the other? do you have any details on workflow? they look nice, but i am guessing that you matched the A1 to the HVX, not the around way around. (i would be shooting four A1s with an HVX thrown in the mix--do you suppose this would work?) howdja do it? thanks.

Yes it would work. It would be easier to match the 4 A1s before the shoot and then match the HVX. I suggest using Steven's VIVIDRGB settings for the A1s.
My workflow and details are explained on that other thread.
