I'm sure there are those out there looking to upgrade their stabilizers and get "more into the game." Just a head's up, there is a Steadicam EFP for sale on steadicamforum.com and it appears to be quite a good deal. I have no affiliation with the seller, or anything to gain - I simply saw the listing and thought, "wow, that's quite a good deal!" I'm posting here because at the current price, it's a small stretch beyond what many of the users here are looking at. I already have a nice rig, otherwise I would have put an offer in, especially at that price.
For $15,000 you can step into a real rig capable of flying the great majority of Video and Film cameras. It's older technology for Steadicam (i.e. the same tech that ALL the knockoff brands now use), but if you're looking into a Glidecam or equivalent full rig, this is certainly worth a look. It appears to be heavily modified and the sled looks to be modernized quite a bit from the original. FYI, the nearest rig with similar capabilities today sells new for $41,000 (Clipper 24), or a modified lower rig (Archer) for around $28,000. Not apples-to-apples, but rough comparison. Pro, XCS and MKV are all quite a bit more.
Again, just a heads up for those in the upper-middle range market who may not have already looked over there.
