An e-bay seller, calling himself, thingsthatblink, is already selling this new MPEG2 HD cam. (The Japanese verson.) I'm curious who this seller is. Anyway, here's the link:

It's still there, but the auction ended apparently without a sale. So he turned around and relisted it:

Various places have been offering the HD1 on ebay for over a month now. The first one I saw was by a company in Tokyo back in mid-April, when the camera became available in Japan. I've been sooo tempted, but I've decided to wait for the pro version HD10 here in the US.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't this so-called "revolutionary" tool for Indies suppose to be in the stores by now. Seems like something is brewing in the state of JVCLand--

The date I saw for the intro of the cameras in the US was June. So, unless you want to read Japanese menus and manuals, it won't require too much more patience.
