Hey guys, Im new to Premiere, and I have a quick question about transitions.
I need to creat a clip fading out to white, and I dont know how to do this.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Im using premiere 6 (yuck) by the way.
Any and all info greatly appreciated.

Fade to a white matte. Or, put a matte over the track and fade it in.

Sorry, Im an uber noob.

I don't still have an old copy of Premiere 6.x around so I may not be the one to ask. But basically, if you are using A/B editing, you put a white matte the track opposite the one you are fading from and apply a dissolve transition. Then the next clip gets a dissolve from white.

in premiere 6.6 you can fade video using the line under .
it is like the volume level line in sound track but act to video.
you need to expand video track to see this feature

I'm still using Premiere 6.5.
Go to File > New > Color Matte> then create the color. Safe white usually has the values of 229 229 229.
You can also right click in the project window then choose file > New and the same as above. The new matte will only appear in the project window once it's created. Then simply drag it into the timeline, expand the track it's in to adjust the band for fading.
