I recently returned from vacation with footage from my Sony A1-U, only to discover that even though the Steady Shot was "on" (default setting), my clips were shaky.

Is there a Stabilizer program for HDV available? All I've been able to find (Google search) is DVD resolution programs. Premiere CS2, Vegas plug-ins or a stand-a-lone program would be OK

Thanks,

Final Cut Studio 2 has a built in plugin to remove camera shake.
Earlier Shake had such feature, but its discontinued by now.

If you use PC platform, they wont work for you.

Go to http://www.sundancemediagroup.com/articles/deshaker_guide.htm and you'll find a good description of how to do it. Both VirtualDub and DeShaker are free (but the authors won't be upset by a little financial support) and work extremely well. Ah, you will need to convert HDV camera files to avi, using Cineform or other.
