Richard Wakefield May 29th, 2007, 02:15 PM errrm...errrr...not sure why that's happened. have u got the latest version of media player?
Patrick Moreau May 29th, 2007, 04:27 PM I'm not having any luck getting the video to play either. Tried firefox and Safari. I'm downloading an update so we shall see if that works.
Love the track though, especially when tied together for another track from the same soundtrack. I'll post back when I get the video to load.

Vince Lucena May 29th, 2007, 04:30 PM Loved the shot of them holding hands with the church building in the distance, a nice focal point.
By the way, your hosting serve dumped the file to me at around 500kbs, who are you going with as I am shopping around?
Patrick Moreau May 29th, 2007, 04:33 PM The flip4mac update got it to work.
I liked the clip overall, I thought your 3d titles at the end were very appropriate for the music and what not without feeling like it was too much. I also really enjoyed your opening sequence.
Thanks for sharing.
Patrick
Dana Salsbury May 29th, 2007, 04:47 PM Good music choice. I also loved the 3d text.
John Moon May 30th, 2007, 10:10 PM Great work Richard.
Nicholas Valentine May 31st, 2007, 05:50 AM Great piece Richard. Everything flowed nicely.
Patrick Pike May 31st, 2007, 01:35 PM Looks good, but as a personal preference, I didn't care for the font used during 3-d treatment at the end. I think it might work better with a non-script font.
Good work!
Richard Wakefield May 31st, 2007, 03:18 PM cheers Patrick, i always take those comments on board...i'll maybe compare styles/fonts when i get a chance :)
Tim Harjo June 4th, 2007, 04:42 AM Richard, That was fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
Ian Broadbent June 4th, 2007, 05:18 PM Loved it, also had a look at your demo too, very nice also.

Harry Lender June 9th, 2007, 08:50 PM Richard
Outstanding. What was the music you used?
Thanks
Harry
Paul Gallagher June 10th, 2007, 12:29 PM Very well done Richard.
I loved your titles throughout the whole trailer, the end titles was that done in AE with a saphire plugin, looked really well?
Richard Wakefield June 10th, 2007, 12:55 PM the song is called 'The Island Awaits' by the way
and the end title used Shine and Particular (from the Trapcode range)...i've found it's worth spending the time to set something like that up (keyframes + 3D Camera movements) coz now all i have to do is change the names, and use it for other couples :)
cheers for the comments everyone...
James Klatt June 10th, 2007, 02:10 PM Maybe it's just me, but I found the music and titles to be extremely intense, and way over-the-top. It didn't feel appropriate.
I notice tons of wedding cinematic trailers/montages that are employing motion picture scores and title sequences try to emulate an epic and fairytale delivery that is associated with $200 million dollar Hollywood blockbusters.
You are obviously not alone, since so many other wedding trailers go for this same style.
Is that really what the wedding was like, though? I try to find a way to dramatize without overwhelming the substance of material. It feels so showy. I would much rather like to get a taste of the people's personalities, and try to enhance the material with subtle titles and music. I always feel like people are moved the most when the devices that are dramatizing or elevating the material are invisible. Whenever the style exceeds the weight of the material, I always feel distanced from the subjects, rather than further acquainted.
I don't mean to be so negative. You obviously know your way around a camera and editing suite. Your ceremony and reception are probably really great. I just thought I'd give my honest critique, rather than the old pat on the back.
Richard Wakefield June 10th, 2007, 02:35 PM James, i really appreciate your view and to be absolutely honest with you, it literally is just a 30 second intro to the whole DVD, (which is entirely different as you can imagine.) It's almost meant to be OTT and over-dramatic to provide something a little different, and maximum impact for people about to sit down and watch the DVD. it's nice to watch people's faces the first time they see it!
The couples really seem to enjoy seeing themselves in a dramatic, cinematic-esque piece. You have to remember that editing is our thing, but for some people, being put in a completely different environment whether it's a warped photo from photoshop, or a cinematic trailer, can be really exciting when they don't have the knowledge to do that themselves.
