What other software do you use in addition to your NLE?

Alex Taylor May 10th, 2003, 10:02 PM I use After Effects sometimes, and Photoshop for some titles and graphics if I need them. K. Forman May 11th, 2003, 05:36 AM Gee... what don't I use would be quicker :) Premiere, of course, gets the most use, for video, compositing, and animation. I use Photoshop for everything from color backgrounds to titles and animation. Illustrator comes in handy for fancy titles. Infini-D 3D, for all sorts of stuff. Titles, virtual settings, even helps light scenes in the real world! Sound Forge is the best for audio tweaking and mixing. It even works with video. And that covers the tools I use the most. Of course, some jobs require other tools... Richard Alvarez May 11th, 2003, 07:14 AM If you mean "Professionally" than that would be Scriptware for writing scripts. Mike Rehmus May 11th, 2003, 09:12 AM NLE is Canopus RexEditRT Photoshop After Effects PB Illustrator Amorphium MS Pro to import wierd formats & Rotoscoping Poser Cool 3D Studio Canopus SpeedControl Ed Smith May 11th, 2003, 03:12 PM I use: - Premiere 6.5, - Photoshop - Reel DVD - Acid music and anything else I might decide I need when the time comes. All the best, Ed Adrian Douglas May 12th, 2003, 07:38 AM As well as many of the apps mentioned above, I find Scenalyzer and Virtual Dub to be essential video utilities. Nigel Moore May 12th, 2003, 08:29 AM In addition to my NLE (which is Premiere BTW), I use After Effects PB, Photoshop, Illustrator (better than the Premiere titler), and Cleaner XL. Currently I mainly output to web (for which Cleaner is pretty much essential) and tape. But I have my eye on DVD and am thinking about Encore when it becomes available. But that's for the future! :) K. Forman May 12th, 2003, 09:03 AM I agree Nigel, Encore does look intriguing. Of course, I doubt that I will find a single DVD app that will have ALL the features I want, without having to spend big money. I would like 5.1 and Dolby, and of course, motion chapter selection. Watch for special offers from time to time to Sound Forge, ACID, and Vegas owners. ///d@ Don Donatello May 13th, 2003, 09:04 AM commotion pro combustion 2.1 sound forge 6 acid pro 4 final draft Scott Osborne May 13th, 2003, 07:42 PM Premiere 6.5 w/ Matrox RT2500 AfterEffects 5.5 PB PhotoShop 7 Illustrator Sonic DVDit PE Inscriber Title Motion Canopus Procoder 1.2 Newtek Lightwave 7 (Just starting to learn it now) Steinberg CubaseSX Propellerheads Reason 2.5 (The new synths rock) Steinberg WaveLab4 Synthetic Aperture Video Finnese 2 Synthetic Aperture Echo Fire I will soon be getting SA Color Finnese as well Ed Fiebke May 15th, 2003, 12:10 PM Sonic Foundry's DVD Architect (use a lot) Photoshop 7 (use a lot) Illustrator 10 (use a lot) Emagic's Logic (LAWP) 5.51 (use every now and then) Steinberg's SX 1.01 (use a lot) Steinberg's Wavelab 4.0 (use a lot) Steinberg's Halion, Virtual Guitarist & Virtual Guitarist Elec.
