I've been working with my HV20 24p footage using Vegas 7 and Cineform Connect HD. Connect works like a charm and allows me to capture true 24p avis with the pulldown removed. Then I can edit and color correct in Vegas on a progressive 24p timeline with no problem.
The problem is when I want to go back to tape to store my edited footage, or to watch it on my HD TV.
Vegas only lets me output 60i footage back to my HDV tapes (I would prefer I could export 24f files like the ones the XH-A1 records and the HV20 can read). Anyways, I wouldn't mind going into an 60i wrapper if Vegas would simply add the 3:2 pulldown an output the footage as 24p with pulldown because I could capture the footage back with Cineform whenever I need it and remove pulldown again. The thing is, that it appears that, instead of adding pulldown, vegas converts the 24 frames to 60 fields by frame blending, resulting in interlaced footage that cannot have pulldown removed and turned back to true 24p progressive footage.
Anyone having the same problem. Anyone knows a way around using vegas?
What I would love to be able to do is export the 24p timeline into 60i m2t file, adding pulldown. Then I could output that m2t to any HDV camcorder.
