I just received a 1080i tape and can't get my hd-50 or gy-hd100 to play the tape. I switched all the internal setting i could find and still nothing. No downconverted output through composite, component or y/c.

am I missing a simple step?

So why the 1080i setting in the menu and the reference to it in the manual?
