Looking to create Tilde, spanish accent mark in FCP5.
My partner says he swears he has done it before.
I never have.
Is this possible?

Hold the Option key and push N. The next letter you type will have a tilde over it. This also works for umlauts. Option U + next letter. Accent grave and accent aigu are option ` and option E + letter, respectively.
Go to System Preferences > International > Input Menu tab and check "Show input menu in menu bar." Make sure the keyboard viewer box is checked. Then go to the American flag menu and click "Show keyboard viewer." This willl show you all the symbols available in each font. Not every font supports every symbol, but Times, Helvetica, Lucida and all the basic fonts usually do.
