#1 Is it an adjustable aperture as you zoom? It looks like it goes from f1.6 at WA to f3.5 at 20X , am I reading the specs right ?

#2 Is the external mic holder on the top handle removable ?

#3 Would Vegas 7 (the NLE I have) be able to edit 24F & 30F easily? Im not sure of the 24F & 30F work flows ,Is it just as easy to edit as normal 1080x60i?

#4 Can you get decent shallow DOF video with the 20X zoom and wide open aperture ? Any frame grab examples of people?

Thanks Joey

1) yes, it changes when in full telephoto.

2) yes, with a screwdriver

3) well I edited my video in Final Cut Pro which is only 1080i and it managed the 25F... maybe it sees the frame as two identical field.

4) Yes you can. Watch my video at http://www.mediafire.com/?8znxbafpt1s

Alessandro , Thanks for the answers. That video looks great with very clean low light detail and colors.

Thanks, consider that my preset wasn't ideal for low-light shooting, in fact I want to try something better soon...

In the meanwhile, can someone explain what the coring is and what is the difference between increasing coring level and switching noise reduction on?

Increasing coring reduces noise in your image that has fine detail.

Decreasing it obviously does the opposite. But I have noticed that small amounts of decreasing make any subtle noise look more like film grain, instead of it being digital/blocky looking.
