hello, I'm trying to set up an external monitor for a hv20, the component out is 1080i and I got a mayflash vga001, the results:
lilliput 7'' 800x480: double image no matter I tweak
acer 17'' 1280x1024: out of range
21'' CRT: it works but at 640x480 so the resolution is not so good as its supposed
both lilliput and CRT shows 640x480 33,7khz 60hz , playing with powerstrip both lilliput and acer seems to handle this screen mode without problem,
I don't know why the vga001 output is 640x480, may be the unit is defective?

were you able to resolve this? I have the lilliput and vDIGI transcoder and get the double image as well. 640x480 output too.

Yes if someone has any info on this I would like to know as I am about to purchase this combo for a high rez monitor solution for my hv 20 setup

I'm using HVX200 + Mayflash + Lilliput 619GL Non Touchscreen.
It reads 640 x 480 just as yours does, but I get no double image or ghosting at all when outputting 1080i from the HVX200.
It won't accept 480 or 720, though.
It might be an HV20 thing?

the mayflash can (and should) be powered. it could help ?
anyway the mayflash is not and up/downscaler. it just converts signal type.
so the screen you use must be able to deal with the resolution you feed in.

Hey i think the problem might lie with your screen and not the hv20 (it could be a combination of both though.) Check out this thread: http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=7381&highlight=finally
This guy is running his hv20 through a mayflash into a xenarc monitor and he says that it works perfectly.

the problem is "solved", as giroud said, the mayflash is not and up/downscaler, it simply converts the 1080i signal, and cause it is interlaced most lcd monitors have a problem displaying it.
I purchased a scaler and it works, but it adds weight, need 12v, and the llilliput is very low quality, it is hard to focus, not as hard as with video out but hard anyway. I need a better LCD now

Where, for the love of whatever, is Paolo, ND?
Poland?
Alaska?
Antartica?
Just a suggestion, but maybe time to contact the admins and update that address.
Makes no sense to me whatsoever.
