I have an AT835b that can be powered off a AA battery. I am on a limited budget and can't afford a Beachtek right now. For those that are using an XLR to Mini Plug cable could you post a link to the exact one you are using and how well you like it. I will be planning to mount the mic on the cam for now. The reason I'm posting in the HV20 section is because I know that different camera's have different mic inputs and I am looking for something that works for sure with the HV20

That one seems like its for an XLR to 1/4'', I think the input in the HV20 is 1/8''.

Well what I'm looking for is something like this from BHphoto.com

The this is I heard that you need to make sure you get the right cable or it could mess up your mic. I think it has something to do with a small current coming out of the camera's jack, but I'm not sure. Can anyone clarify this?
