Is it possible to do this? I've searched but only found some older threads about this. I would like to rent a JVC HD100 and later on transfer the footage through firewire with my FX1E.

According to the older threads the FX1 would only output a component signal and a digital transfer through firewire is not possible. Has anything changed in the meanwhile or does the newer JVC model write different data to tape that would make it possible?

I did a shoot recently for a short film the main cam was the
JVC GY-HD110U the cam had an audio problem so I tried loading the tape from the JVC into my Sony V1U & Z1U neither cam could read the JVC format.
