Any comments about the Shure FP32 field mixer?

VERY old and i don't think that shure makes repair parts for it anymore.
i'd pass unless its been sitting in a closet for a LONG time - in the box.

I'm VERY old too and I think it needs testing before you decide.
Crackly, hissy, rumbly pots and generally noisy sound?
Or quiet, silky, present, crisp sound?

Hey I have one on my bench if you want one. It was a little noisy compared to the newer models but I know one sound person who was still using one.

why?
good enough for news guttering , headphone amplifier , video village distributor and allot of nice stuff .

I still have mine too because I find it hard to get rid of equipment if it still works even if I rarely use it. I removed the power cord from mine because it is much quieter running on batteries. I actually have the older version, with one of the outputs paralleled on binding posts for hooking to a phone line while out on remote! It was one of the pre-existing pieces of equipment here when I started 20 years ago and it occasionally comes in handy. Tone generator, -55db mic output, cheap battery-powered 4x1 mixer with simultaneous Line or Mic output, etc. etc.

Yeah, I thought about that this morning and got it out of the closet. I was thinking of my late 1970's vintage M267, not the FP32.
