I just realized I don't use predefined and saved picture or camera profiles any more. I used to, but God knows why each time you choose a new camera profile (from one of the in-camera slots, or from the memory stick), the machine reboots. It not only takes precious time before you can start shooting, but also creates unnecessary power on/off cycles - so I don't care for profiles any more. I find it easier and actually faster to set the camera up before, or even during, each shot. And I feel more a "power user", more at control - which is very good to my silly ego:)

Does anyone know why doest it have to reboot each time a new camera profile is chosen?

hi piotr,

tried swapping pp's (not from duo stick) and they seem to swap fine on mine with no reboot....

i don't know how to do a camera 'reset to factory defaults' yet (anyone?), but that would be my first line of attack (defence)

Leslie, the pp's switch without rebooting; I meant the Camera Profiles - they seem to always reboot. And - since the number of picture profiles is limited - it's really handy to create camera profiles including any 7 pp's, plus some additional settings (like the framerate for instance).

But, since camera profiles can also differ in some "hardware settings" (like manual vs auto focus, buttons assignement etc) - Sony has chosen to implement a reboot after each camera profile change, which is an overkill.

I guess my initial post wasn't clear enough - sorry.
