View Full Version : Remove 2:2:2:4 pulldown?

I've been having audio sync issues using DVHSCAP to ingest my JVC HD100 (I'd like to extend a big thanks for nothing to both Avid and Apple) footage so I'm wondering if I'm not better off capturing component through my Decklink Extreme to a 720p60 DVCPRO HD file. The only thing I am concerned about is removing the extra frames -- is there software for Mac OS X that would correctly remove this pulldown without re-rendering? I'm pretty sure After Effects will remove the pulldown correctly, but I'd rather not re-render everything out.

Actually, now that I think about it, why doesn't Cinema Tools do this? I know it's not a pulldown usually inserted either during telecine or by cameras, but it is a known cadence.

If you are using DVHSCAP to capture anyway, why not take the resulting .m2t file and use MPEG Streamclip to transcode it to whatever editing codec you want to and import that into FCP (The new ProRess 422 in FCS 2 is optimal). The program is free.
