I can render the following without any problems...Vegas 7.0d btw
A1) 1280X720, 29.97/25.00/23.976fps, progressive, 1.000 pixel
A2) 1440X1080 29.97/25.00 fps, interlaced, upper field first, 1.3333 pixel
A3) 1440X1080, 23.976fps, progressive, 1.3333 pixel
but why would you not be able to render...
B1) 1280X720, 29.97/25.00/23.976fps interlaced (assuming upper field first), 1.000 pixels
B2) 1440X1080, 29.97fps, progressive, 1.3333 pixel
IN ALL CASES TRYING TO MAKE PHOTOJPEG FILES
Note - the A1-3, B1-2 is simply to facilitate easier replies for a given format example
I'll try a stab at the answer right now but I'm only guessing....please help me to understand this if possible.
In situation B1 I am assuming that there is no technical reason for it but simply that for broadcast purposes it does not exist (I think?) so Vegas does not try to do it. It thinks it does but when looking at the file properties after a render it actually renders a progressive file. Fine...I don't actually want a interlaced 720 file anyway....HOWEVER.
In situation B2 it's a concern. I want this. My XH-A1 can record 30f so I want to capture and render out in this format to PhotoJpeg. When trying to force Vegas to go progressive at 29.97fps it again thinks it can but actually renders an interlaced file. For that matter it should be simple to take a 60i capture and render down to 29.97 progressive.
Hope someone will take the time and explain this...it's driving me nuts.
