Hi,
i'm figuring how to keep the best from a 1080i footage in a SD sequence. But i need your opinion, is it worth?
Here the procedure i tried:
importing HDV 1080i footage in FCP (in this example we are working in PAL
deinterlacing it (you still have 1080 x 540 resolution)
put that deinterlaced file in a DV-PAL sequence.
Result?
The footage should be full SD progressive, because for every SD line there will be a line from the HDV single field (and resizing the HDV file at 0.5 X, you will have 540 full progressive lines (that means that there will be a small letterboxing, invisible on a TV set)
I tried it, and it seems to be better than shooting SD then deinterlacing it.
Do you agree?
