I noticed on Amazon that Final Cut Studio 2 "will be released on May 15th", according to their website. This would be exactly one month after NAB.

The Apple stores are also claiming they should have it on the shelves by mid-May.

Cool. The May 31st date may just a last resort deadline.

Good

I want Apple to get it out and in the wild as soon as possible. Then they can fix any bugs and prepare a Leopard update which should give yet another boost.

I can't wait. I definitely want to see if Soundtrack Pro 2 fixes bugs and delivers on the features.

So much for a May 15th release. Apple changed the shipping date on their website today from "May" shipping to "2-3 weeks".

I ordered FCS on 5/14. My confirmation email from Apple says, "Ships by: Jun 5"

I ordered it on the day of the Keynote and mine still says Ship 5/31, Deliver 6/1.

Amazon went from the 15th, to Coming In Soon, to 1 to 2 Weeks. Apple also is reporting similar time frames now. It doesn't seem to be coming early anymore.

Apple store now says it will ship new full version in 3 to 5 business days. Only the upgrade versions are delayed two to three weeks. Interesting.

Actually people that have ordered upgrades are getting deliveries as well!

As I noted on another board earlier today, if even 20% of the 800,000 registered FCP users upgrade immediately, that's 160,000 packages that have to ship ASAP! I imagine Apple has a pretty sophisticated fulfillment operation in place - but shipping 160k of ANYTHING takes a while to process.

Be patient. I'm sure we'll all be happy soon.

Got my upgrade this afternoon (ordered April 16th 7:30am). I haven't had a chance to install it yet, but I'm excited anyway.
