I was wondering if anyone using macs can reommend programs that can work with the HV20 to capture a live feed driectly into my computer, skipping the tape completely, not to mention tape noise. So far i am able to do it in Final Cut but every time i hit esc to stop captureing, it crashes.

Thanks

Have you tried DVHSCap or AVCVideoCap from the latest firewire SDK ? I guess they would work if anything will work.

Jason, I have used DVHSCap to capture directly to my 7 year old G4 on many occasions without problem, even long captures. It's very solid/stable (never had a crash or corrupted file), you just don't get a preview on the computer screen like with other capture softwares but I haven't found that to be a problem. DVHSCap can be found in the Developer Tools of the OS X install disc.
