Unless I'm missing something new .... there have been articles on this since at least early Feb, including pictures of both the cam and 40GB HD unit.

this is encouraging. I may be getting into shooting weddings after editing them for a year or two, and am anxious about this new format. I've seen way too many mini-dv tape dropouts, mis-aligned recordings, and dirty head recordings.
The article at least lets us know where Panasonic wants to go. I am not satisfied with their current AVCHD camcorders of course. I would like to see a dvx100 like camera. In the mean time, I would like to see Japan's full 1920 resolution edition come to the U.S.

As far as I can see it has no wired remote, no viewfinder and a lower data rate than the Sony's.
