I have sony HVR A1E (PAL) and when I try to increase the sharpness in premiere pro the image quality gets terrible... I tried recently the same with footage from HV20 in m2t format and the picture looks great up to more than 100% increase in sharpness.... the question is what does the built in increase in sharpness in the camera itself do? does it make a lot of difference? and would it make editing the sharpness in premiere pro less successful?
