Hi,

I am experiencing some problems with my B-camera, a sony PD100. When I shoot with 63min tapes, the camera refuses to record anything more than about 44 minutes. Why? What can I do to make it use the full tape, and thus saving me a lot of tape?

Settings are:

16:9
50i
Audio FS48K

Thanks in advance =)

The PD 100 shoots in DVCAM ONLY and is not switchable to DV-since the tape runs FASTER in DVCAM you get less tape time hence 44 minutes.

Don's nailed it. But you can buy '80 minute' tapes that will get you back to your hour's recording time in DVCAM.

The PDX10 replaced the PD100 and on that camera they (sensibly) enabled it to shoot in SP as well as DVCAM.

I see.

I think I'll just use some old tapes, then.

And make sure you replay those tapes in the PD100 when loading your computer, after all they're DVCAM, and some Panasonic camcorders might object.
