Hello guys, I just shoot a video in time lapse, here is the URL
format 1080 @ 23.97fps

http://65.98.13.62/350/601_color_QT_no_compression_HD_720p.mov

http://65.98.13.62/350/601_color_QT_no_compression_HD_1080p.mov

1-I used avid media composer, deck set to FAM mode to transfer files.
2-output to QT movie uncompressed
3- final uncompressed to sorenson
4- sorenson with almost default settings to those 2 files.

the rest is your comments, suggestions, and tips in how to.

cheers,

William Osorio

Hello William,

The biggest problem i see it´s not your fault: the weather.
It´s quite time consuming getting the ideal weather for something like this.
There´s little motion definition in the clouds, i would like to
see more action in it.

I´m trying some timelapses, too.

Grey April Day from my window.

(azureus magnet link)

1080p25 h264
Fixed iris (at f8, i think) with filter 1
Cine2 with Hisat
1 frame each 3 seconds
FAM to FCP
Speed up 250% (with a smooth start-stop curve)
Motion blur (fcps own motion blur) at 100 with 8 samples
No color correction

I´m making some tests before i start doing some serious stuff.
I´ll post more soon. Today we had better clouds ;)

I used avids's dnxhd coded for this movie, and then sorenson to squeeze.
the avid render gave me a 343MB final output with the sorenson went to 62.8MB.

I thought it looked great. I know you didn't color correct yet, but my only comment would be to add some Gamma correction to deepen the midtones.
However, that viewing on my Apple Cinema Display-30". I have not looked at an NTSC Device.

I might add that depending on $$, I certainly would buy that shot from any library if needed.

Thanks for your effort to share.
