Hi,

You will get one more progressive frame per second and the 24p. You will not get 50i look like on a DV camera. In order to get 50fps you'd need to shoot in 576p50SD mode.

happy shooting

What will the image result like ... will 25p look juggery on my TV set like a 24p or will it be smooth.

25p will look just like 24p. i don't think anyone can perceive any difference coming from the added frame.

Yes, in order to have smooth motion recorded on tape at 1280x720 resolution, you'll need the jvc2xx series. Another HDV format that provides smooth motion is 1080i50, which you can get from a canon or sony camera (in this price range).

when you shoot in 25p, you are seeing 50p on the VF, because the camera is actually processing 50fps, but it is only recording in 25fps to tape.
